There are several types of curtain pleats, each offering a unique aesthetic and functionality. Here’s a summary of the most commonly used.

Types of window Curtain Pleats !

There are only few type of pleats generally used in Indian houses mostly used by the architects & interior designers majorly used for window .

1. American Pleat: In American pleat we have two options one is two pleat & the other one is three pleat. in two pleats there is less gathering and fabric use is bit less by one linear panel depending on the total width of curtain measures, where as in three pleats the fabric use is bit more & the curtains are bit heavy in weight with more gathering. For both two & three pleats curtains are recommended to run on curtain track mechanism. Easy to unhook for washing purposes. 2. Ripple Pleat: This ripple pleats are present in the interior designing thing since long but people haven’t adapted much yet. These style need a bit more fabric then regular curtains but at the same time they give an amazing straight & curvy look from top to bottom. Reason for less use of the ripple pleats style area few that the channel & stitching is bit higher in price than the American pleats curtain. According to the users feed back its a bit tricky to un hooks from the track for washing etc. Needs more space at the pelmet area as it forms thick gathering in the form of folds on front & back.
   
                                                                                                                                                                         
   
    
3. Eyelet Pleat: This eyelet pleat where easiest thing to do in early times when there was less use of curtain tracks as the eyelet style curtain can operate only on curtain rods which are easily available at a hardware store. At the same time eyelet curtains are easily available in ready made form & easy to remove curtains for a wash. But has some drawbacks like operating is not smoother as compared to American & ripple pleats, While curtains are open i mean put aside the rod is exposed & visible that looks ugly.
   
   
                                                                                                                                                                                 
    

   But still in old interior houses residents are using the curtain rods & eyelet curtains. Some people are using.
